Summary
A cutting-edge deep-tech company is seeking a Senior Scientist to lead research at the intersection of molecular vibrational dynamics, nonlinear spectroscopy, and quantum-enabled measurement technologies. You'll play a pivotal role in developing next-generation molecular sensing methods, working within a multidisciplinary team of experts in quantum optics, quantum information, spectroscopy, and physical chemistry.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of theoretical models describing molecular behaviour and spectroscopic measurements.
  • Simulate molecular dynamics and predict spectroscopic signals across advanced quantum spectroscopy techniques.
  • Develop species-specific molecular models and analyse their behaviour over time.
  • Collaborate closely with experts in quantum optics, quantum information, and experimental physics to advance new measurement technologies.
  • Act as the company's subject matter expert in molecular vibrational dynamics and represent the organisation in scientific collaborations.
  • Help shape the long-term scientific direction of this research area.
 
Requirements
  • PhD in Physical Chemistry, Chemical Physics, Theoretical Chemistry, or a closely related field.
  • Several years of postdoctoral or industrial research experience.
  • Strong expertise in molecular vibrational dynamics and nonlinear/ultrafast spectroscopy.
  • Experience with theoretical modelling, quantum chemistry, molecular dynamics simulations, and spectroscopic signal analysis.
  • Ability to bridge molecular modelling with experimental spectroscopy.
  • Strong scientific leadership, problem-solving ability, and experience working independently on complex research challenges.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills within multidisciplinary research teams.
