As part of its next phase of growth, the company is looking for a Senior Engineer to own the document intelligence layer that powers its core platform. This is a high-impact engineering role focused on building reliable systems that convert complex, real-world documents into structured data used by AI applications in production.

What you'll be working on
- Designing and improving OCR and document extraction pipelines
- Building systems that process PDFs, spreadsheets, scanned documents, images and other structured and unstructured data
- Improving extraction accuracy, reliability and performance across production workloads
- Developing validation frameworks, confidence scoring and quality assurance tooling
- Partnering with AI engineers to prepare high-quality data for LLM-powered workflows
- Investigating extraction failures and continuously improving system performance
- Building monitoring, evaluation and observability tools for document processing pipelines
- Working closely with product and domain experts to support increasingly complex customer workflows
We're looking for someone with
- 5 years of software engineering experience
- Strong backend engineering fundamentals
- Experience building production document processing, OCR, ETL or data extraction systems
- Experience working with PDFs, spreadsheets, scanned images or other document formats
- Strong debugging skills and an obsession with data quality and correctness
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of critical platform components
Nice to have
- Experience with OCR, Computer Vision, Document AI or information extraction technologies
- Experience integrating LLMs into production document workflows
- Exposure to financial services, accounting, legal technology, insurance or other document-heavy industries
- Experience building evaluation frameworks or quality measurement systems
- Experience operating large-scale document processing pipelines
