An Applied AI Research company in Menlo Park is looking for a Research Engineer to join its advanced R&D team. In this hands-on role, you’ll help bridge the gap between exploratory research and deployable systems - playing a key part in the development of next-generation intelligent agents and AI architectures.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Implement and iterate on novel machine learning techniques, tools, and benchmarks
  • Build infrastructure that supports large-scale experimentation and performance evaluation
  • Evolve internal agent frameworks, focusing on efficiency, adaptability, and scalability
  • Collaborate with researchers to translate new ideas into practical prototypes and working systems
  • Maintain a high-quality codebase, leveraging version control, CI/CD, and peer reviews

What We’re Looking For:
  • Background in software engineering with experience working on ML or AI-centric systems
  • Proficiency in Python and/or C++, with a deep understanding of code optimisation and system-level design
  • Familiarity with ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow) and experience building tools that support research workflows
  • Strong grasp of experimental methods, benchmarking, and AI evaluation metrics
  • Creative problem-solver with a collaborative mindset and solid communication skills
