Summary
An innovative quantum technology company is seeking a Quantum Applications Scientist to bridge the gap between advanced quantum hardware and the researchers using it.
This is a highly technical, customer-facing role combining quantum computing expertise, product demonstrations, business development support, and customer engagement. You'll work closely with commercial, product, and engineering teams while engaging directly with leading research groups and organisations across the quantum ecosystem.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a technical expert in quantum computing, quantum control, and quantum hardware systems.
  • Conduct experiments and validate hardware capabilities against customer requirements.
  • Lead technical discussions with customers to understand research challenges and identify solutions.
  • Support sales activities through technical presentations, proposals, and product demonstrations.
  • Gather customer feedback and market insights to help shape future product development.
  • Represent the company at conferences, workshops, and customer sites worldwide.
 
Requirements
  • PhD in Physics, Quantum Computing, Quantum Engineering, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with experimental quantum computing systems, particularly qubit control and readout.
  • Experience operating and troubleshooting complex laboratory setups involving RF, microwave, cryogenic, and electronic instrumentation.
  • Strong Python programming skills for automation, control, and data analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and a collaborative mindset.
Nice to Have
  • Experience in applications engineering, sales engineering, or customer-facing technical roles.
  • Familiarity with the commercial quantum technology landscape.
  • Experience presenting research or technology to external audiences.
