We’re looking for a contract AI Data Engineer to help build and scale data infrastructure that supports advanced analytics and AI use cases. This role focuses on creating robust data pipelines and enabling intelligent data processing in a cloud-first environment.
What you’ll be doing
- Build and maintain end-to-end data workflows to handle ingestion, processing, and transformation of diverse datasets
- Leverage machine learning and generative AI approaches to enhance data preparation, including tasks such as extraction, tagging, and feature creation
- Connect data platforms with cloud storage and processing services, ensuring seamless integration with downstream AI and modelling workflows
- Improve pipeline efficiency, scalability, and resilience through performance tuning and proactive monitoring
- Work closely with engineers, data specialists, and AI practitioners to deliver reliable data solutions
- Strong background in data engineering, with solid Python development skills
- Experience working with large-scale or complex data environments
- Exposure to AI/ML concepts and practical use of generative AI in data-related workflows
- Hands-on experience with Azure-based data platforms and services
- Good understanding of data governance, pipeline optimisation, and system reliability
- Ability to operate effectively in distributed, cross-functional teams
